Window Light *is* Beautiful
There were actually two people that inspired me this past week to post this. Not surprisingly it was none other than Jeff Engelhardt and Clayton Wells, whose shots over the past couple of weeks have included portraits done with nothing but window light.
If my memory serves me correctly, I threw a large white sheet over the south facing window at my Grandparents home in Southern California while we were visiting last summer. I simply asked my Grandmother to look out the window and kept engaging her in conversation while I made around 20 or so frames. She has such an expressive face and I wanted to capture the essence of what would be uniquely her…in a photograph.
It’s times like this when I miss them so dearly… -vK
